A WEEKEND IN MONTECITO.

When Davide turned 30 we went to Montecito. It was almost overwhelming to watch. He loves California the way most of us love Italy. We go up there as much as we can, sometimes staying in a little motel, sometimes at friends places. For his 35th birthday we decided to take another little trip.

I had enough Amex points to stay at Miramar, which I love for one main reason - they are the only beach in california with a license to have a beach club - so they serve food and booze. It's super kid friendly but very much an expensive place. There's a darling motel around the corner that you can stay in which allows you to walk to everything - including the Miramar for a lil drink. And if you buy a drink you can walk it down to the beach and bring your own towel!!

We went to Lucky's for dinner because it's our absolute fav. Second night we didn't have a res but we went to Plow & Angel at San Ysidro Ranch. Again, very pricey,  but you can just pop in for a drink and walk around the gardens which i would highly recommend. Bettina is another good stop for dinner, Poppy is a cute kids store, Rori's has fab ice cream and theres a Doen store. Oat Bakery is my fav in the world.  La Super-Rica Taqueria is 10/10 Mexican food as is Lily's tacos

I strongly believe that nightgowns can be worn at any time. This one from Eileen Westwood is one of my favorites — really breezy but not see-through. This Doen one is so good too if you want a shorter option. Wear it with a gold cuff and black sandals to dress it up (I'm wearing my favorite Tribute sandals but these LPA ones are another great and more affordable option).

When packing my clothes, the first thing I ask myself is what I'll be wearing to dinner to make sure those get figured out first. I knew I wanted to wear this absolutely gorgeous Helsa dress. The flower is removeable which is fun because you can switch up the look, and it's a bit longer on me which I loved because I could wear more casual shoes / not have to wear a heel.

Then there's this Stone Cold Fox dress. The fabric is unreal. It has a gorgeous satin-y sheen to it that looks special and luxurious. I wore those with little Manolo kitten mules.

I keep coming back to these cute little Amazon pajama sets for Carmela. Although to be honest she wears them out more than to sleep. They're really affordable and love that it's a matching top and bottom. Really soft too and the colors and patterns are beyond adorable.

I'm always packing pretty much the same beauty shit and that's because I'm obsessed with my routine. Newest addition is this recovery mask for 111Skin and I'm also a recent body oil convert. This Costa Brazil one smells SO good.
